Multiple graded stakes winner Kobe’s Back will get some time off to deal with “a few minor issues.”
Trainer Peter Eurton told the Daily Racing Form that the 5-year-old horse has been turned out, and won’t require surgery.
“We’ll give him a little freshening and a couple of months off,” Eurton said. “He’s got a few minor issues, a little body soreness.”
Kobe’s Back has won 5 of 20 starts and has earned $ 1,036,250. He won two Grade 2 races at Santa Anita earlier this season, the Palos Verdes Stakes and the San Carlos Stakes. Eurton said that Kobe’s Back will return to the races next year.
“He’ll be a 6-year-old and a horse to be reckoned with,” Eurton said.
