Apple’s Jade: Hatton’s Grace Hurdle (2018)

What a supserstar – the brilliant Apple’s Jade puts up arguably her best-ever performance to win the Bar One Racing Hatton’s Grace Hurdle for the third under Jack Kennedy for trainer Gordon Elliott and owners Gigginstown House Stud at Fairyhouse.

Joining Solerina and Limestone Lad as just the third horse to win this illustrious race for the third time, Apple’s Jade majestically lands the spoils by a yawning 20 lengths. The mare is now an eight-time Grade 1 winner.

How would she get on in a Champion Hurdle? Who would come out on top over two and half miles in a match with Samcro? Such questions seem unlikely to be answered – at least in the near future – as connections plot a path to the OLBG Mares Hurdle at the 2019 Cheltenham Festival…
