Apple’s Jade – Irish EBF Mares Champion Hurdle

Awesome – mighty mare Apple’s Jade sizzles to victory with a scintillating performance in the Grade 1 Irish Stallion Farms Irish EBF Mares Champion Hurdle at the Punchestown Festival for trainer Gordon Elliott, jockey Bryan Cooper and owners Gigginstown House Stud.

A small mare but one big on guts and talent, Apple’s Jade posts her biggest margin of victory of the season – by 14 lengths from runner-up Airlie Beach – and her third Group 1 win triumph of the season. She was only beaten a nose in the other one she contested in 2016/17!

From her 11 recorded starts, Apple’s Jade has never finished out of the first two and has seven wins so far, including five at Grade 1 level.

A step up ion trip to three miles could be on the cards for Apple’s Jade next season, and a potential tilt at the Sun Bets Stayer’s Hurdle at the Cheltenham Festival…
