
Multiple graded stakes winner Beach Patrol tops a field of nine for Saturday’s G1 United Nations at Monmouth Park.
Beach Patrol, a 4-year-old son of Lemon Drop Kid enters the United Nations off a fourth-place finish in the G1 Woodford Reserve Manhattan at Churchill Downs. As a 3-year-old last year, he won the G1 Secretariat and was placed in the G1 Hollywood Derby, G2 American Turf and G3 Hill Prince.
Beach Patrol is trained by Chad Brown for Sheep Pond Partners, Head of Plains Partnership, and James Covello.
Itsinthepost and Liam the Charmer invade from California. Itsinthepost most recently was fifth in the G1 Charles Whittingham Stakes. Prior to that he won the Elkhorn Stakes at Keeneland and the San Luis Rey Stakes at Santa Anita.
Graham Motion will send out Messi and Can’thelpbelieving, while Mike Maker has entered both Bigger Picture and Oscar Nominated.
The field also includes the Bill Mott-trained Closing Bell and Lucky Lindy, trained by Michael Matz.
