STELLAR MASS, trained by Jim Bolger, will get the chance to further enhance his profile with a first Group 2 success in the Betway Great Voltigeur Stakes at York on Wednesday, for which a possible field of 11 were confirmed.

Aidan O’Brien’s Idaho, second in the Irish Derby, heads the Voltigeur market at 6-4, with Stellar Mass as big as 10-1.

Bolger said: “I think there’s further improvement in him and the plan is to run. Depending on how he goes there, we might look for another suitable Group 1 for him in the autumn.”

Bolger also had news on Darley Yorkshire Oaks entry Turret Rocks.

“She’s a good-ground filly and hasn’t ever had conditions right for her this year. She can still be a serious filly when she gets everything right,” he said.

After 7mm of rain in the morning on top of 3.4mm from Tuesday evening, the going at York was good, good to firm in places yesterday, with a largely dry forecast predicted by the Met Office before the Ebor festival gets under way.
