Champion Winx headlines the list of 2017 inductees into the Australian Racing Hall of Fame.
According to Punters.com, the mare becomes just the third horse to be inducted while still racing, following the mighty Sunline and undefeated Black Caviar.
In addition to Winx, other equine inductees into the Hall of Fame include Archer, winner of the first Melbourne Cup in 1861; Light Fingers; and Saintly, winner of the 1996 Melbourne Cup.
Two jockeys, two trainers and three owners were also inducted in the Hall of Fame. Punters.com reports that “arguably Australia’s greatest ever jumps jockey” Tommy Corrigan was inducted, along with Melbourne Cup-winning rider John Miller.
