TRAINER Roger Charlton will send out his first runner in the Godolphin blue silks later this autumn after Sheikh Mohammed’s team purchased unbeaten two-year-old Atty Persse.

The Frankel colt made a striking debut at Sandown last Wednesday when beating Hamada by one and three-quarter lengths in a one mile maiden, and has since been sold by Bjorn Nielsen.

“The whole team at Beckhampton are thrilled and honoured to be training for Godolphin,” Charlton said.

“Atty Persse holds a Group 1 entry in the Racing Post Trophy at Doncaster, but it’s too early to say whether he’ll take it up.

“He’s an inexperienced horse, but was impressive at Sandown. We’ll find something suitable for him before the end of the season.”

Atty Persse is 33-1 for the Qipco 2,000 Guineas and the same price for the Investec Derby.
