Cloud Computing Stretches His Legs In Half-Mile Work; Brown Aiming For Jim Dandy

Preakness victor Cloud Computing breezed on Belmont’s main track Sunday morning, covering a half-mile in :49.40 for trainer Chad Brown. According to drf.com, the 3-year-old son of Maclean’s Music is being pointed to the July 29 G2 Jim Dandy Stakes at Saratoga.

“It was a maintenance work, just something to let him stretch his legs a little,” Brown said. “It was an even half. I liked the way he did it.”

While Cloud Computing is aiming for the Jim Dandy, and likely the Travers if he performs well, stablemate Timeline will be Brown’s entrant in the $ 1 million Haskell Invitational on July 30. Undefeated in four career starts, Timeline most recently scored a 3 1/2-length win in the G3 Pegasus at Monmouth, exiting the race without one of his shoes and with some minor abrasions on his right hind leg. Brown added that the injuries would not cause the colt to miss any training.

Another possible contender for the Haskell is Kentucky Derby fifth-place finisher Practical Joke, though he will first be tested a one mile in the G3 Dwyer on July 8.
