Connect was much the best in the G3 Westchester

Connect made a successful 4-year-old debut when he rolled to a 4 3/4-length victory in the G3 Westchester Stakes at Belmont Park.

The victory by the son of Curlin provided trainer Chad Brown and Irad Ortiz Jr. with their second graded stakes winner of the afternoon at Belmont Park. Brown also saddled two stakes winners at Churchill Downs early Saturday afternoon – Paulassilverlining in the G1 Humana Distaff, and Roca Rojo in the G2 Churchill Distaff Turf Mile.

Virtual Machine finished second, with Frammento edging Mohaymen for third. Final time for the eight furlongs on the main track was 1:36.49.
