TRAINER Jeremy Noseda has admitted “it’s all but game over” for his leading Coronation Stakes hope Nemoralia at Royal Ascot on Friday as the rain continued to fall at the Berkshire track on Monday morning.

The Newmarket trainer was hoping for good ground or quicker for his daughter of More Than Ready, 5-2 joint-favourite with most firms, who scored impressively on her return at York last month.

After Nemoralia breezed six furlongs on the Al Bahathri on Monday morning, Noseda said: “It’s very disappointing but I would say it’s all but game over for Nemoralia if what I’m hearing about the rain they are getting is true.

“It’s a nightmare, I can remember rain during Royal Ascot in the past but never for it to open on soft ground.”

He added: “It’s very annoying when you haven’t many horses and could do with a big one like this. There is no immediate Plan B but she is in the Group 1 Falmouth Stakes at Newmarket although that is against older fillies.”
