Dortmund worked at Santa Anita on Oct. 25
Multiple Grade 1 winner Dortmund is back in training at Art Sherman’s barn at Los Alamitos, according to a report by The Blood-Horse. Retired in April, the son of Big Brown is expected to put in his first timed workout this summer within the next 30 days.
Owner Kaleem Shah said there is no stud deal in place for Dortmund, and his April retirement didn’t coincide well with the breeding season. The big chestnut enjoyed several months of turnout time, and Shah said afterward he “looked like a racehorse again.”
A next start for the colt has not yet been announced.
