BETFRED Ebor favourite Ivan Grozny will miss Saturday’s feature handicap at York, trainer Willie Mullins has revealed.
Ivan Grozny, who was the 5-1 favourite to win the richest Flat handicap in Europe, was found to be lame on Friday morning.
Mullins tweeted: “IvanGrozny does not run @yorkracecourse. Unfortunately he was lame this morning.”
First reserve Havana Beat will now get a run.
Ivan Grozny had been strongly supported in the ante-post market for the Ebor after bolting up in a conditions race at the Galway Festival and was a top price of 11-2.
Nortumberland Plate winner Antiquarium, who had been the 7-1 second favourite, has been installed as the new 6-1 favourite with the sponsors.
