Faugheen – Before They Were Famous

The start of something special – on 11 May 2013, newcomer Faugheen storms to victory on racecourse debut at Punchestown. He didn’t turn out too bad!

Trained by Willie Mullins and ridden by top amateur and son Patrick Mullins, Faugheen stormed clear to a most visually impressive performance. The star hurdler would go on to win the Neptune Novices’ Hurdle and the Champion Hurdle in successive years at the Cheltenham Festival, the Christmas Hurdle at Kempton, the Punchestown Champion Hurdle and the Irish Champion Hurdle in a haul of eight Grade 1 victories to date. Faugheen has only been beaten once.
