Chantilly: Prix du Conseil de Paris (Group 2)

FIVE of the seven Group 1 races staged at Chantilly this month were won by British yards, and in this Group 2 highlight the Prix du Conseil de Paris (2.45), Berkshire has a good chance of scoring for the second time this season.

However, the task facing the injury-plagued five-year-old is hardly straightforward with the six-runner line-up headed by One Foot In Heaven, who excelled himself when finishing sixth behind Found in the Arc itself.

Christophe Soumillon takes over this time on the likely favourite, while Olivier Peslier picks up the mount on Berkshire, who won a Windsor Listed event 50 days ago.

“He put up a gutsy performance to win at Windsor and seems to be just as well now,” said Cole. “He’s run a couple of good races this year and a couple of bad ones. We’ve not got him back 100 per cent this season, but he’s been getting over his many hiccups and should be back to his best next year.”

Half an hour later, Rostova, Golden Stunner and Havre De Paix run for Britain in the Listed Prix Casimir Delamarre (3.15).
