Princess Margaret Juddmonte Stakes (Group 3) 6f
FAIR EVA cemented her position at the top of next year’s Qipco 1,000 Guineas market with a stunning victory at Ascot.
Sent off the 4-6 favourite her success was by no means unexpected but the ease at which the flashy daughter of Frankel put her Group 3 rivals to the sword was mighty impressive and had bookmakers running for cover.
As short as 3-1 favourite with Stan James, Fair Eva is now rated a general 4-1 shot for Classic success, with Ladbrokes a stand out 6-1 (from 10) for the Guineas.
Time test passed
Settled behind the leaders, Fair Eva travelled effortlessly for Frankie Dettori and although taking a couple of strides to hit top gear, she was going further clear at the line, which she crossed with four lengths to spare over runner up Kilmah.
Giving further substance to the performance was her winning time of 1m 12.54s, narrowly outside Henrythenavigator’s juvenile record over course and distance of 1m 12.46s.
‘A real pro’
Winning trainer Roger Charlton said: “She’s got a very professional way about, she really puts her head down. She’s a great mover and has always seemed really good. She’s a real pro.
“She’s entered in the Moyglare Stud Stakes [Group 1 over 7f on September 11] and she will clearly get seven furlongs and a mile in due course.”
