FRANKEL’s stunning start to life as a sire continued on Thursday when his daughter Fair Eva made an impressive racecourse debut at Haydock.

The first progeny of Frankel to carry the silks of Khalid Abdullah, Fair Eva was a well-backed evens favourite to win the 6f novice stakes and she justified the support to bring her sire’s record to three winners from four representatives.

Slowly into stride, Fair Eva – who is out of Group 1 winner African Rose – quickly recovered the ground and travelled powerfully before quickly putting her stamp on the race, asserting readily inside the final furlong to win by four lengths.

Nations Alexander set the standard based on her encouraging second over course and distance on debut and she again showed promise in chasing home the talented winner.

Reaction from connections

Harry Charlton, representing Fair Eva’s trainer Roger Charlton, said: “There is a certain amount of pressure, it being the third of the four Frankels and the first one to run in Juddmonte colours.

“We wouldn’t be renowned for first time out two-year-old winners – we don’t do a lot with them – so a lot of that would have been on natural ability rather than being drilled and prepped for the race.”

Regarding the impression the flashy chestnut filly has made since entering the yard, Charlton said: “She is a filly we have always liked. She is a beautiful mover and very strong. So we were hopeful.

“There are no immediate plans but I would think there will be nothing too quick, we will give her a bit of time.”

Fair Eva has been introduced into the betting for next year’s 1,000 Guineas at 25-1 by BetVictor and Betway.
