THE GOING on the course for the Coral-Eclipse was changed to soft on Saturday after a sharp shower of 3mm of rain before racing on top of a downpour on Friday night.
Clerk of the course Andrew Cooper made the adjustment to the official ground description after the first race.
The Gurkha is proving solid in the betting and is a best-priced 5-6 to win the Coral-Eclipse, while Time Test has drifted in the market due to the rain and is 11-2.
My Dream Boat, who won last month’s Prince Of Wales’s Stakes at Royal Ascot, has proved relatively weak in the early betting skirmishes on Saturday morning but has shortened after the rain and is 5-1. It is 9-1 bar that trio.
