Grand Tito Diagnosed With Mild Case Of Laminitis

Multiple graded stakes-winning Grand Tito is currently residing in the Ruffian Equine Hospital, across the street from Belmont Park, undergoing treatment for a mild case of laminitis, reports drf.com. The 6-year-old son of Candy Ride developed laminitis after a shoeing incident the week of the Joe Hirsch Turf Classic, said trainer Gustavo Delgado.

Delgado explained that Grand Tito’s case is not very severe, and that he may even be released later this week. Provided that he continues to improve, Grand Tito will likely ship south to Florida with the rest of Delgado’s string next month, and could return to the races in 2017.

Over the course of his career, Grand Tito has won nine times and been second another eight times from 37 starts, racking up a total of $ 784,587 in earnings.
