Arrogate’s performance in Saturday’s G1 Dubai World Cup has drawn accolades from around the world. The gray/roan colt has also drawn comparisons to another ‘freakishly talented’ racehorse, one that also sported the same green and pink Juddmonte Farm silks – undefeated Frankel.
While in all honesty, it’s difficult to really compare the two colts, since Frankel raced strictly on turf, and Arrogate has only raced on dirt, Prince Khalid’s racing manager, Teddy Grimthorpe, tells the Racing Post that there is one major similarity between the two colts – their “capacity to excite.”
“This horse has absolutely exploded on to the scene since Travers Day, whereas Frankel was pretty exceptional at two, three and four,” Grimthorpe told the Post. “I know there have been comparisons but it is part a connection thing.”
“Really you can’t compare. Everything is different. The real thing is to enjoy. Where the similarity is very strong is they both have that capacity to excite a racing and a wider public.”
