Graded stakes winners Made You Look and Hemsworth are among 136 horses nominated to five stakes, two of them graded, worth $ 500,000 in purses Saturday, Jan. 7 at Gulfstream Park.
Let’s Go Stable and Three Chimneys Farm’s Made You Look, who won the With Anticipation (G2) Aug. 31 at Saratoga in his third career start, tops 32 nominees for the $ 100,000 Dania Beach (G3) for 3-year-olds going 7 ½ furlongs on turf.
The juvenile son of More Than Ready is one of nine Todd Pletcher-trained horses nominated to the Dania Beach including Gulfstream stakes winners Sonic Mule, Tapwrit and the undefeated Fact Finding. They are joined by multiple graded stakes-placed Iowa-bred Han Sense and stakes winners Kitten’s Cat, Squadron and Whiskey Train.
Fact Finding and Sonic Mule are also among 17 horses nominated to the $ 100,000 Hutcheson (G3) at six furlongs. The first graded event for 3-year-olds on Gulfstream’s road to the Florida Derby (G1) also drew unbeaten stakes winner Chance of Luck; back-to-back sprint stakes winner Even Thunder; multiple Grade 3-placed Recruiting Ready; Talk Logistics, runner-up to Sonic Mule in the Buffalo Man; and Gulfstream maiden winners Arrecife, Basha and Field Trip.
Also for 3-year-olds is the $ 100,000 Mucho Macho Man at one mile, which attracted 31 nominations led by Godolphin Racing’s Hemsworth, front-running winner of the Nashua (G2) Nov. 4 at Aqueduct. Multiple stakes winner Cool Arrow, Gulfstream Park West’s Juvenile Stakes winner Sweetontheladies, Even Thunder, Fact Finding, Han Sense, Sonic Mule, Squadron and Tapwrit are also nominated.
St. Elias Stable’s Pletcher-trained Bode’s Dream, undefeated in three starts including the Astoria and House Party Stakes, heads 20 3-year-old fillies nominated to the $ 100,000 Old Hat at six furlongs, along with multiple stakes winner R Angel Katelyn; Hut Hut Stakes winner Lirica; Wildcat Kate, second in the Juvenile Sprint and House Party; and Gulfstream maiden winners Sand Shark, Tiuna, Tonina and Waves of Blue.
The most popular race with 36 nominations was the $ 100,000 Ginger Brew for 3-year-old fillies at 7 ½ furlongs on grass, including Stronach Stables’ undefeated multiple stakes winner Conquest Vivi, trained by Mark Casse; Party Boat, who extended her win streak to three in the Dec. 10 Wait a While Stakes; and stakes winner Create a Dream.
