Gunnevera works at Gulfstream West on July 15

Peacock Racing Stables’ Gunnevera breezed five furlongs in 59.60 seconds Saturday morning at Gulfstream Park West. The Antonio Sano-trained 3-year-old produced his third straight bullet workout while turning in the fastest of nine recorded at the distance.

Unraced since finishing fifth in the Preakness Stakes (G1), the son of Dialed In is scheduled to race once at Gulfstream before venturing to Saratoga for the Travers Stakes (G1) Aug. 26.

Last year, Gunnevera won the Saratoga Special (G2) after breaking his maiden at Gulfstream. He went on to conclude his 2-year-old season with a victory in the $ 1 million Delta Downs Jackpot.
