Jumps legs included in Scoop6 puzzle

SATURDAY’S Scoop6 will include two races over the jumps from Market Rasen, as the six legs are split across three meetings with a potential pot of £400,000.

The Summer Plate Handicap Chase and the Summer Handicap Hurdle, both of which are Listed contests and sponsored by Tote owner Betfred, feature alongside four races on the Flat, with two races at both Newmarket and Newbury and culminating in the tricky 25-runner Weatherbys Super Sprint at 4.10.

Ballynagour, who finished a valiant second in the John Smith’s Summer Cup at Uttoxeter on June 26, is one of 16 declarations for the Summer Plate with the market led by joint 6-1 favourites Theinval and Long House Hall.

Last weekend the Scoop6 failed to get past the fourth leg, meaning the pot will build from £222,362. Betfred spokesman Andrew Griffiths said it is likely to hit the £400,000 mark. The bonus fund will start with £78,335 in the kitty.

Five of the six races are live on Channel 4, and the first leg starts at 2.15.
