Lady Aurelia pulls away from the field to win the G2 Queen Mary Stakes at Royal Ascot in June
Globetrotting juvenile filly Lady Aurelia, recent winner of the Group 1 Prix Morny at Deauville, is settled in at The National Stud in Newmarket, where she will continue to prepare for the G1 Cheveley Park Stakes Sept. 24.
Racing UK reports that the Wesley Ward-trained daughter of Scat Daddy is scheduled to breeze Sunday under jockey Frankie Dettori.
“She’s at the National Stud at the moment, I’m very gracious to my friends there for letting her stay,” Ward told Racing UK.
“My assistant trainer Frankie Dettori rides her every morning and sends me a video. Frankie will breeze her on Sunday, we need to finalize whether it will be on the Rowley Mile or the July Course, and I’m hoping my good friend Robert Cowell will provide me with a lead horse.”
Lady Aurelia is undefeated in three career starts. She broke her maiden in her career debut at Keeneland in April, setting a track record in the process. She was then sent to Royal Ascot, where she wowed racegoers with an impressive seven-length victory in the G2 Queen Mary Stakes.
France was the most recent stop for the talented filly, who defeated colts in the G1 Prix Morny.
