It has always been known as the ‘Race that Stops a Nation’, but for the first time this year, the Melbourne Cup may become the race that ‘stops the world’.

EnGadget reports that Australia’s most prestigious race will become the first sporting event to be livestreamed globally on Twitter. The Victoria Racing Club announced the deal with Twitter earlier this week. The race will be available for viewing on Twitter’s website or on its official apps.

According to EnGadget, Twitter’s deal with the Victoria Racing Club is its first streaming partnership outside the U.S.
