Majestic Harbor (Rockport Harbor) and jockey Corey Lanerie win the Alysheba (Gr II) at Churchill Downs
Gallant Stables’ Majestic Harbor, winner of the Grade 2 Alysheba Stakes in May, has been sidelined by a minor leg injury.
The Daily Racing Form reports that the 8-year-old horse has been turned out at the LaCroix training center near LaGrange, Ky., while his connections determine his future.
The injury is “not necessarily career-ending”, according to Loren Hebel-Osborne, a partner in Gallant Stable.
“We’re going to consider his future as a stallion,” Hebel-Osborne told the Form. “He’d love to keep his racing job, but we have to decide what’s in his best interest.”
In addition to the Alysheba Stakes, Majestic Harbor (Rockport Harbor-Champagne Royale) won the G1 Gold Cup at Santa Anita, G3 Mineshaft, and G3 Tokyo City Cup.
