Three from three over hurdles, the exciting Next Destination lands the Grade 1 Lawlor’s Of Naas Novice Hurdle for jockey Paul Townend, trainer Willie Mullins and owner Malcolm Denmark.
Highly thought of last season as a bumper horse and the choice of Ruby Walsh in the Champion Bumper at the Cheltenham Festival, Next Destination has wasted little time over the smaller obstacles –
yet to taste defeat this season, the Dubai Destination gelding is set to head to the Cheltenham Festival as one of Ireland’s leading novice prospects with the likes of Sacmro at Prestbury Park in March.
Jockey Paul Townend told us after the race: “From the day he won his maiden here he’s been exciting. It’s tough work out there and it was a messy enough race – I’d say his ability got him hime.
“He jumped electric and he was tough when i needed him as well. He seems to be improving now I think – he’s growing up and getting to know the game. Onwards and upwards hopefully.”
