PUNTERS will be chasing the ninth-largest combined pool in Scoop6 history on Saturday, but the £3.5 million does not appear the easiest puzzle to solve with 99 runners across the six chosen races.
A seventh rollover on the spin last week ensures the win fund stands at £1,033,515 while the bonus fund, which has not been scooped since July, is worth £1,720,993.
Six fiendishly difficult handicaps are offered up as the stumbling blocks to punters’ bid for glory, although interest is likely to remain high with the big pot on offer.
The first five races, which are at York and Musselburgh, are televised on Channel 4 – while the Knavesmire also hosts the final leg, which will be shown on Racing UK at 4.10.
Saturday’s Scoop6 races
Leg 1 1.50 York
Leg 2 2.25 York
Leg 3 3.10 Musselburgh
Leg 4 3.35 York
Leg 5 3.45 Musselburgh
Leg 6 4.10 York
Totepool spokesman Andrew Griffiths said: “The Scoop6 is set to go into overdrive with the combined pools already worth £2.75m. These big rollovers always create a huge buzz and it’s sure to be an exciting afternoon for anyone who gets involved.
“The rewards are enormous with a solo winner potentially taking home £3.5m.”
Betfred are offering 6-4 about the Scoop6 being won on Saturday, while it is 1-2 it will rollover to the opening day of Royal Ascot with the bet in operation on every day of the meeting.
Saturday’s totejackpot will run across the first six races at York while the 888Sport Charity Sprint at the York has been selected as the totetrifecta rollover race at 3.35.
