Clearsky Stables’ Abel Tasman and jockey Joseph Talamo win the Grade I $ 300,000 Starlet at Los Alamitos Race Course
China Horse Club has bought into Abel Tasman, winner of the G1 Starlet Stakes last month.
The BloodHorse reports that the promising 3-year-old daughter of Quality Road will remain with trainer Simon Callaghan. China Horse Club will campaign the filly in partnership with breeder Clearsky Farm.
Michael Wallace, the racing and bloodstock manager for the China Horse Club, confirmed the purchase to the BloodHorse Monday.
“(Abel Tasman’s) race record speaks for itself,” Wallace said. “She’s a grade 1 winner and has long-term residual value, which suits what we’re trying to achieve. And we believe she has plenty more to offer on the track in 2017.”
