Samcro saunters to victory at Navan

One of the most exciting prospects on either side of the Irish Sea for several years, the highly-exciting Samcro makes it six wins from six starts with an effortless victory in the Grade 3 “Monksfield” Novice Hurdle for the jockey Jack Kennedy, trainer Gordon Elliott and owners Gigginstown House Stud.

“The sky is the limit,” says our expert Gary O’Brien about a horse that everyone is talking about – and one who is likely to be one of the ‘bankers’ at the Cheltenham Festival in March if the son of Germany is good to go in the spring.

The Ballymore Novices’ Hurdle (formerly known as the Neptune] looks the likeliest route for Samcro at this fairly early stage – and bookmakers cut his chance into 5/2 from 9/2 for Festival gloey on the back of this stunning performance.
