‘Small Issue’ Sidelines Imperative Until Autumn

Loooch Racing and Imaginary Stables’ Imperative, winner of both the G2 Charles Town Classic and Poseidon Stakes earlier this year, faces some time on the sidelines due to a “small issue”.

The Daily Racing Form reports that Imperative had been targeting the G1 Metropolitan Handicap June 10.

Owner Ron Paolucci, told the DRF via text that the issue occurred during training Tuesday. Imperative is stabled at the Thoroughbred Center near Lexington, where he will be hand-walked for 90 days. Imperative is trained by Bob Hess

“We’re gonna give him the summer off, shoot for a prep then hopefully the Pegasus since we know he likes the surface,” Paolucci said.
