Stacelita wins the G1 Beverly D. in 2011. Her second foal, Soul Stirring, became Frankel’s first G1 winner when she captured the G1 Hanshin Juvenile Fillies Dec. 11
Soul Stirring became the first Group 1 winner for her sire, Frankel, when she rolled to a 1 1/4-length victory in the G1 Hanshin Juvenile Fillies Dec. 11.
The 2-year-old filly is the second foal out of Stacelita, winner of the Eclipse Award as champion turf mare in 2011. Stacelita’s first foal is Southern Stars, a 3-year-old filly by Smart Strike who is currently in training with John Gosden. Stacelita was sold privately to the Yoshida family at the end of 2011.
Soul Stirring, who is undefeated in three starts, became the sixth graded/group stakes winner for her sire Frankel, whose first crop are 2-year-olds. In addition to Soul Stirring, Frankel is the sire of Group 2 winner Queen Kindly and Group 3 winners Fair Eva, Frankuus, Mi Suerte, and Toulifaut.
Mi Suerte will have a chance to become the second Group 1 winner for her sire when she runs in the G1 Asahi Hai Futurity Stakes Dec. 18. Mi Suerte, who captured the G3 KBS Kyoto Sho Fantasy Stakes last month, is out of Mi Sueno (Pulpit – Madcap Escapade), winner of the G1 Del Mar Debutante.
