Tepin, seen winning the Churchill Distaff Turf Mile
Champion turf mare Tepin could make her next start in the Grade 1 Fourstardave Handicap at Saratoga Aug. 13.
The Daily Racing Form reports that trainer Mark Casse had been leaning toward running in the G2 Ballston Spa Stakes Aug. 27. However, Casse is now considering the Fourstardave due to the better timing of the race. The Fourstardave is 60 days after Tepin’s last race – the Group 1 Queen Anne – and is five weeks out from the mare’s early autumn goal of the G1 Woodbine Mile.
“I think that’s a great idea,” Casse told the DRF. “We’re going to think real hard about that.”
