KYLLACHY QUEEN (Marco Botti/Junior Alvarado) provides the British interest on the second day of the Belmont Stakes festival when she lines up for the $ 500,000 New York Stakes.

Formerly trained in Italy by Marco Botti’s brother Stefano, the four-year-old won the Listed Snowdrop Stakes on the all-weather at Kempton in April. “She has travelled over well and I am pleased this far with her preparation,” said assistant trainer Lucie Botti, who is supervising operations for Prestige Place in the USA.

Kyllachy Queen is drawn six of seven in the Grade 2 contest, which also features French-trained Havana Moon (Mikel Delzangles/Florent Geroux).

Chad Brown’s ex-French pair Sea Calisi (Jose Ortiz) and Dacita (Irad Ortiz) are likely to dominate the market, however.

Ladbrokes: 4-5 Sea Calisi, 5 Dacita, 6 Photo Call, 8 Guapaza, 14 Kyllachy Queen, 16 Havana Moon, 20 Trophee

Belmont Park: Belmont Gold Cup Invitational (ungraded) 2m, turf, 4yo+ (10.46pm BST, live on ATR)

Belmont’s laudable attempt to buck the North American trend by carding a valuable two-miler – a distance almost unheard of in the States – has been rewarded with a good-class 13-runner field including French Group 2 winner Now We Can (Nicolas Clement/Julien Leparoux).

Others engaged in this $ 300,000 event are Da Big Hoss (Mike Maker/Florent Geroux) and Kaigun (Mark Casse/Joel Rosario), one-two over 1m4f in the Grade 2 Elkhorn at Keeneland in April, plus Italian Group 1 winner Biz The Nurse and Grade 1 winners Twilight Eclipse and Up With The Birds.

Ladbrokes: 7-2 Da Big Hoss, 4 Now We Can, 6 Kaigun, Twilight Eclipse, 7 Closing Bell, Up With the Birds, 16 Belisarius, Biz The Nurse, 25 My Afleet, Rum Tum Tugger, Silver Lime, Tiz Town, 50 Tobias
